My contribution

I took care of programming both the AIs, which were our main villain Gorb and its minion frogs. I was also responsible of the sound design and the implementation all the audio.


Gorb and the frogs

Gorb is seen once at the beginning of the game and is much more present in last level. If you get close enough, he would detect the player and chase them to instantly kill them upon contact.

The frogs appear at the last level of the game. They hop around the level and if they gain line of sight of the player, they hop towards them. If the frogs are near enough, they attach to the player’s backpack and alert Gorb, making the villain appear near the player and instantly chase them.


Sound Design

Just before the end of the gamejam, I’ve created a list of all the audio necessary for the game. I’ve quickly found all the copyright free audio and music I needed, editted them and implemented them in the game.

At the end of the game, the elevator malfunctions and falls, but there was no audio. There was about 15 minutes left to the gamejam and I needed to create something very quickly and I couldn’t find a copyright free sound of an elevator falling, so I got creative. I used train tracks, some metal grinding and at the end an explosion and some screams.
